Puppetry events & opportunities, Dec 2011-Jan 2012

Earlier this week I mentioned updates on new festivals in Australia for puppetry: contained here is more news about that, plus an audition opportunity for King Kong, upcoming performances, and other things. While I’m here, I’ll also let people know that the Tarrengower Puppetfest website (more info here) has been updated to include price listings. All the info summarised above has been sent out via OPEN, so instead of re-posting it all, I’ve simply uploaded

the pdf newsletter.

In it you will find all the info about the 2012 fourth National Puppetry & Animatronics Summit, including info on how to submit for presentation slots; info about how to apply for the aforementioned audition; shows in WA, VIC, and SA (the latter for the Adelaide Fringe Festival); and a few big announcements from a number of local puppetry companies.

...

'The Dancing Emu' in Echuca sells the Dancing emu's puppets plus those Folkmais type puppets, and a number of other type of hand, marionette and finger puppets. Mostly for childrens use I guess.

They also do Dancing Emu shows

Hope this helps.

Geppetto's is the bomb though! We bought my friends Ernie and Bert puppets there- oh and Cath went home with a Cookie Monster hahaha

PS: Did Jarrod give you the link for the Sesame Street videos- or did you give it to him lol
