@Madison, Thanks for your comments about Avenue Q on my site. I agree that it would have been better with trained puppeteers - particularly as there are plenty in Australia who don't get any recognition or work. I have heard from friends that the US performances are better, but I hope that as the show continues its run here, things will improve. I think the main aim for casting the actors they did is that in other overseas performances of Avenue Q, they take 'unknown' actors and train them up; the same goes here. I'm not sure I agree that it's that America-centric, but perhaps more Sesame Street specific; if you never watched it or don't remember it, much of the humour may go over one's head.
