Start 2012 with the "Beginners' guide to puppetry", a quick list of references to articles that will help you on your journey in discovering the world of puppetry! From definitions to theory, you'll find it all here.
Earlier this week I mentioned updates on new festivals in Australia for puppetry: contained here is more news about that, plus an audition opportunity for King Kong, upcoming performances, and other things. While I’m here, I’ll also let people know that the Tarrengower Puppetfest website (more info here) has been updated to include price listings. All the info summarised above has been sent out via OPEN, so instead of re-posting it all, I’ve simply uploaded
the pdf newsletter.
In it you will find all the info about the 2012 fourth National Puppetry & Animatronics Summit, including info on how to submit for presentation slots; info about how to apply for the aforementioned audition; shows in WA, VIC, and SA (the latter for the Adelaide Fringe Festival); and a few big announcements from a number of local puppetry companies.
Hve you heard about Jig Puppets? Went to a local International Puppet Festival, and they look so simple to operate and make that I would like to have a go, but have not found anything about this style of puppet on net yet. If you know more, please let me know, apart from that, a great site.
