Al Martinez Studios closes
I’m sad to report that Al Martinez Studios in Melbourne has closed.
This is somewhat old news: it happened a month or so ago. I’ve not heard any specific reasons as to why, only that some sort of sudden emergency has seen the company close for good. Al has been letting everyone know that he is letting go of props, puppets and so forth; and is also closing down the actual studio (in Kensington) which had recently been flooded - a coincidental event which saw little damage to the premises and contents. The company had been involved in a number of large productions and is well known to Australian puppeteers. Al had been overseas the last few months working on a large-scale production.

@Shannon, In what way did the article 'not help you'? Because if you were just looking at the list, and not clicking on any of the links provided, then you would have missed the large descriptions of each kind of puppet - in which case, no wonder it didn't help you. I can't do anything to improve the list if you don't give me more specifics on why it didn't help.
