There has been an increasing number of people who seem to be having problems figuring out how to obtain the pay-per-download patterns. I’ve discussed this is in far more detail over on Puppets in Melbourne, and the various legal ramifications of it; but here I will keep things a bit more professional. As part of the ever-ongoing work on School of Puppetry, I’ve been working on a possible solution.
It has been pointed out to me (thanks Shawn at Puppets and Stuff!) that better layout/design may help combat this confusion. To that end, every pay-per-download advertisement leads to this page instead of a paypal link. I hope that not only will it help deal with the issue of "where’s my pattern" (aka thinking it’s a hard copy), but also pricing concerns, and so on. The benefit with this is that it also showcases the other patterns so you can compare and contrast; and I can add more links as I add more patterns in the future. There is also an actual shopping cart now, instead of just a single payment page. I may edit the advertisement page (not the new one, the things like this) further, but I’m going to try this version out first and see if it works better. If you’ve got some feedback, let me know.
