How to make a puppet using recycled materials
In this day and age, we’re all conscious of the amount of crap we produce that can’t be reused, and ends up in the local town dump. Making puppets seems like an addition on that waste, with foam, plastic and all sorts of other things being needed to make something that may, in the end, be put in the trash (that’s another topic for another day). Is it possible to make puppets out of only recycled materials? Of course! There may be some things that you’ll simply have to buy (like glue), but practically everything can be reused. @ Amanda,
... School of Puppetry on Where to study puppetry in Australia? If you haven't already, I recommend reading this article.
(I’m currently moving articles from one site to another, which is why you wouldn’t have found it on School of Puppetry)
The short answer is: I’m not aware of anyone in particular who offers puppet repair as a specific service. Your best bet is to contact UNIMA Australia (www.unima.org.au), the centre for Australian puppetry, and see if they can pass on your request to their members.
Sorry I can’t help further, but this is all I have been able to find out about local repairers.
